BLOCK WATCH PROGRAM

Support neighborhood safety by organizing a Block Watch. Come listen to Cindy Parks, from the City of Renton, explain how a block watch works and its effectiveness in reducing crime.

SOUTH RENTON NEIGHBORHOOD SUMMER PICNIC

Our picnic is scheduled for June 27th, 5:30-7:30. We are planning fun activities for kids and entertainment for all. The city BBQ’s and we all bring a dish to share. More volunteers are needed to make this event better than ever!

4 COW BRIDGE ART PROJECT

South Renton has received a grant to proceed with an art installation at the “4 Cow Bridge” located at Shattuck and Houser Way. Neighborhood participation is needed to plan, raise funds and awareness of the project.

RENTON RIVER DAYS PARADE

South Renton will be a part of the parade. We have some ideas; we’d like to hear more. Kids, adults welcome, join the FUN.

Community Garden…

For the last 12 months, community members from South Renton have been working on a plan for a community garden.  We’re very excited about this possibility and have put forth time and effort on meetings, research, and planning.  Below are links to our proposal and a short informational sheet.  Please let us know what you think!

We recommend bringing out some lawn chairs as we expect a crowd!

What a beautiful day on the Saturday before Easter. Thank you to all the kids and neighbors who participated in the South Renton Easter egg hunt this year! It was an unexpected turn-out and great to see so many people enjoying the activity and talking with one another. Thank you to all the volunteers who provided donations. Hello Friends and Neighbors,

Come join us and help make South Renton the place to be!

We will be meeting at  Liberty Square Apartments 417 Burnett AVE South on TUESDAY APRIL 5TH @ 7PM – 830PM

As usual we will be meeting in the activities room on the first floor of the north building, just up the stairs off Williams and to the right through the double glass doors.

This Month, we will be hosting Angie Mathias from the city of Renton and she will discuss her City Center Plan draft and is looking to us for some feed back. You can access the City Center plans which includes the South Renton neighborhood that will be shared by Angie at http://rentonwa.gov/business/default.aspx?id=25229.
